We're Two Months Old Today!

8+ weeks have already flown by. During weeks 5-8: we took our first family outing to Chick-fil-A for dinner (it was such a treat to get out of the house successfully between feedings), we bought our first “family car” (it fits 3 car seats across), Ilalia and the twins joined Adam and Tyson at church on Sundays at Scottsdale Bible Church, we learned that it takes a great deal of preparation and teamwork to get out the door on time, and we treasured every moment of sleep that we could get. :-)

Caleb and Bria are doing well and keep us busy, especially with their daytime feeding schedule of eating every 2 ½ hours (Ilalia nurses one baby and then the other gets a bottle). At two months old, they enjoy sleeping (still together in one crib), eating, and getting their diaper changed. Lately, Caleb and Bria are able to sleep for a 5-6 hour stretch at night… not bad, and we hope that the stretch of time keeps growing and growing. Just like Tyson, they don’t have much hair at all; Caleb’s hair color looks dark brown and Bria’s hair color looks light brown and maybe even a shade of red.

Costco, anyone?

Caleb likes: looking around and watching Tyson.
Caleb dislikes: his car seat (so Tyson has made up a song called “Caleb, We’re Almost Home” to calm him down).
Tender moments: watching his first smiles at 7 weeks old.

Bria likes: tummy time and her pacifier.
Bria dislikes: our dinner time… she gets fussy and restless the moment we sit down to eat.
Tender moments: watching her first smiles and coos at 7 weeks old.

When we’re out about in public, the twin factor tends to bring lots of attention to our family. As we walked through our church parking lot last Sunday, a man said to us “Man, you have got your hands full!”. Then Tyson replied loudly, “I know! We have the twins now and I am three years old!”. It cracks us up that Tyson answers for us and calls it like it is.
