Latest and Greatest...

Here are some recent photos. :-) Lately, my plate has been full with the kids and school work. I am enjoying both, but I am tired... I am not a night owl, so I am taking a break from reading right now in hopes of a "second wind".

We're Four Months Old Today!

September! I am super excited that our twins have hit month 4 of life.

Why being 4 months old rocks:
  1. C & B are down to 5 feedings a day (the first 8 weeks we had 8-10 feedings a day).
  2. C & B are more expressive with their smiles and sounds.
  3. C & B are not mobile (yet) and are content with watching Tyson and the world around them.
  4. C & B are able to grasp their baby toys/rattles.

Hanging out

August has had some notable highs and lows for us. It always lifts our spirits to spend time with family and friends. :-)

First Day of Preschool

Time sure flies...Tyson had his first day of preschool today! Tyson and I held hands from the car to his classroom, but once we walked into his classroom he turned to me and said, "I need a hug and a kiss" (so I gave him a hug and a kiss).  Then it was "Ok, bye Mom." I wasn't emotional saying goodbye, but I was having a much harder time than him with the fact that he was now in preschool... the start of his educational career. T-minus how many years until college? It's going to come too quickly.

Tyson is a big fan of Tow Mater

Highlights of his first day: using the bathroom (everything is his size), painting, and playing with cars.

We're Three Months Old Today!

Our twins have 12+ weeks of life under their belt! Caleb and Bria still share a crib and like being swaddled. They enjoyed their first vacation to the cabin and did well in the car. Their routine is pretty much the same, but the best part is that they eat every 3 hours and they sleep for an 8 hour stretch at night now! :-) Mornings are extra sweet… we love watching them wake up, stretch, and flash big smiles at us. Running errands with all three kids-in-tow was something we used to try to avoid, especially during the work week, but now its become a daily outing for us.

Mr. Tyson looking for his toy wrench... have you seen it?

Caleb likes: getting his diaper changed = huge smiles!
Caleb dislikes: Sleeping without Bria.
Tender moments: Watching him track and smile at Tyson.

Bria likes: cuddling, especially with Caleb (we find her snuggled up next to him every morning).
Bria dislikes: Sleeping without Caleb.
Tender moments: Hearing Bria’s first laughs and squeals.

July!

July highlights: escaping to the cabin for a week (cooler temperatures, having an extra set of hands from my in-laws, and wonderful home-cooked meals), celebrating our 7th wedding anniversary, a visit from my mom and spending a few days with her at her home, and watching the Olympics (Go Team USA)!!!

Lindsay got to meet the twins and spend time with Tyson

We're Two Months Old Today!

8+ weeks have already flown by. During weeks 5-8: we took our first family outing to Chick-fil-A for dinner (it was such a treat to get out of the house successfully between feedings), we bought our first “family car” (it fits 3 car seats across), Ilalia and the twins joined Adam and Tyson at church on Sundays at Scottsdale Bible Church, we learned that it takes a great deal of preparation and teamwork to get out the door on time, and we treasured every moment of sleep that we could get. :-)

Caleb and Bria are doing well and keep us busy, especially with their daytime feeding schedule of eating every 2 ½ hours (Ilalia nurses one baby and then the other gets a bottle). At two months old, they enjoy sleeping (still together in one crib), eating, and getting their diaper changed. Lately, Caleb and Bria are able to sleep for a 5-6 hour stretch at night… not bad, and we hope that the stretch of time keeps growing and growing. Just like Tyson, they don’t have much hair at all; Caleb’s hair color looks dark brown and Bria’s hair color looks light brown and maybe even a shade of red.

Costco, anyone?

Caleb likes: looking around and watching Tyson.
Caleb dislikes: his car seat (so Tyson has made up a song called “Caleb, We’re Almost Home” to calm him down).
Tender moments: watching his first smiles at 7 weeks old.

Bria likes: tummy time and her pacifier.
Bria dislikes: our dinner time… she gets fussy and restless the moment we sit down to eat.
Tender moments: watching her first smiles and coos at 7 weeks old.

When we’re out about in public, the twin factor tends to bring lots of attention to our family. As we walked through our church parking lot last Sunday, a man said to us “Man, you have got your hands full!”. Then Tyson replied loudly, “I know! We have the twins now and I am three years old!”. It cracks us up that Tyson answers for us and calls it like it is.
